Press Release
    Treasure Hunt Trawl Through Camden

TAKE a trip into the unknown as Camden Friends of the Earth invite you on a fascinating treasure hunt through the borough.

In a bid to raise awareness of global climate change, the group are holding an eco friendly trip through Camden using only sustainable transport to highlight what people can do to help our local environment.

Craig Bennett, Friends of the Earth’s Director of Policy and Campaigns said: "We want to see a transport system based around people not cars and roads."

Camden Close Up is an event inspired by 350.org’s Moving Planet, a global day of action demanding solutions to the climate crisis.

The event kicks-off between 10am and 12pm at Camden market in front of Lock 17, Saturday, September 24 and ends at Belsize Park Green Fair.

Treasure hunters will be handed a map along with some cunning clues to steer them through some cracking eco spots including Camley Street Natural Park, a green oasis in the heart of Kings Cross and the People's Supermarket, a local community foodstore.

Participants will also be tasked with collecting items of treasure, including photos of themselves on sustainable transport to be uploaded throughout the day onto our website.

FoE will have a stall in front of Lock 17 and at the finishing point at Belsize Park Green Fair.

The hunt should take about two hours to complete and at the finish one lucky winner will receive a £25 voucher for the New Internationalist Store and a stack of goodies from Bull Dog natural skin care.
